Homemade Sugar Body Scrub Recipes

The best way to show love and appreciation is by spoiling someone with something that’s homemade. I made these flavoured sugar body scrubs to give away as holiday favours to friends and aunts. They’re ideal as budget-friendly Christmas gifts, party favours or bridesmaid gifts. Give them a try – you’ll feel so proud – and remember to keep one for yourself!

Things to keep in mind before you start…

* Work sparingly with food colouring as it is very strong. Add a drop at a time, mix well and check the colour before adding more. Keep in mind that it might colour the bath water.

* Keep smelling the mixture as you go to get a nice balance. You don’t want the fragrance to be overpowering.

* The methods below are only guidelines. Add as much oil until you reach your desired consistency. I prefer the scrub to be like a thick paste but still soft.

* Only add ingredients that wouldn’t be harsh on the skin, like essential oils and natural ingredients.

* Always save some of the product to test on yourself before giving it to someone.

* Experiment with different flavours and colours!
