Never search for the light switch again! Turn each light switch plate into a little piece of art and light up your life! They’re very easy to replace once you grow tired of a design. I simply adore mine, and guests do too!
Step 1: Cut the paper a cm bigger than the outer edge of the plate, keeping in mind that it will be cut away in the middle where the switch is, so if you have an image of a face, just space it correctly.
Step 2: Place the plate face down onto the back of the paper. From each corner of the paper, cut diagonally towards the corners of the plate.
Step 3: Spray the back of the paper with the spray adhesive and place the plate face down onto the paper. Lift it up and smooth out any air bubbles.
Step 4: Work from the back side of the plate and use your craft knife to cut an X in the rectangle where the switch will go. This will form 4 triangles.
Step 5: Now spray the back of the plate and fold the triangles in from the front, sticking it to the back of the plate. Fold the edges of the paper over the sides of the switch.
Step 6: Work from the front of your project and hold it up to the light. Cut tiny triangles into where the screws will go.
Step 7: From the front , use the pencil to push through the holes.
Step 8: Spray the surface of the plate with 3 coats of clear acrylic spray, allowing to dry at least 15 minutes between coats.
Step 9: Mount the plate back onto the wall and smile at your little work of art!
