I loooove my Chai Latte’s. But buying it at restaurants or in powder form at Woolies or Kauai (which is my favorite) could become quite pricey, especially during the winter when I consume it in liters. And to blend all the spices from scratch is fun and all, but takes time when the season finale of Game of Thrones is about to start. So I’ve come up with a cheat (and cheaper) (and low-carb) way of getting my Chai Latte fix, and when you taste it, you’ll agree – it’s damn near genius.
Step 1: Warm up 1/4 cup milk in the microwave or in a saucepan on the stove.
Step 2: When the milk starts boiling, add the tea bag and use tea bag tongs or a teaspoon to release the flavor and get the milk to discolor as much as possible.
Step 3: Add the rest of the milk and the cinnamon and bring to the boil or heat up in the microwave again.
Step 4: Stir in some honey or sugar to taste.
Leave the tea bag in the milk for a stronger taste.
Yes, it’s that easy! Now plop yourself back on the couch and turn up the volume!
