What a simple way to add some jazz to wooden spoons. It looks like the handles were dipped in paint. I made them as part of a gift for a friend’s kitchen tea, along with a great cook book and a bottle of wine. As soon as I saw how they had turned out, I had to paint all my wooden spoons. You can choose any colour, maybe to suit her kitchen or her favourite colour. This gift will please all your foodie friends.
Step 1: Wrap a strip of masking tape around the centre of the handle of each spoon making sure that the tape lines up. Dob’t forget to paint the tip of the spoon.
Step 2: Hold the spoon up with one hand and paint the bottom part of the spoon over the masking tape to create a solid line. If necessary, give it another coat once the paint is dry. Place the spoons in a cup to dry.
Step 3: When the paint has dried, hold each one up again and spray over the paint with the clear gloss spray paint, while turning the spoon to cover all the areas. Allow to dry thoroughly.
Step 4: Remove the masking tape and there you have your dipped wooden spoons! Tie a pretty bow around them and your gift is ready.
